The Shabak, commonly known as the Shin Bet, is Israel's internal security service.
Shabak (Hebrew: שב"כ) is an acronym for Sherut Bitahon Klali (Hebrew: שירות ביטחון כללי), lit. General Security Service. The service is commonly known as the Shin Bet. It is one of three principal organizations of the Israeli intelligence community, alongside Aman (the military intelligence of the IDF) and Mossad (responsible for overseas intelligence work). The motto of the service is Magen VeLo Yera'e (Hebrew: מגן ולא יראה) lit. Defender that shall not be seen.
